The Three Essential Elements of a Great Presentation

The Three Essential Elements of a Great Presentation/Parts of Presentation

An effective and efficient presentation has three different parts they are:

1. The Opening:
  • It includes the introduction of the speaker, presentation title and agenda
  • The introduction takes the time of 10 to 15% of your speaking time.
  • The introduction should be carefully designed, get attention and motivate the audience to listen to what you are speaking.

2. The Body:
  • It is an important part of your presentation as it explains your topic and gives all the information related to your presentation.
  • It consists of 75% of your speaking time.
  • In your subject, the points of the presentation should be in a logical order and the information should support each and every point given.

3. The Closing:
  • Last but not least is to leave the audience a good impression.
  • The conclusion is critical. here you should not introduce new information.
  • It should include the sum, thank you audience and invite questions.

The Takeaway

  • Excellent presentations have one thing in general: a basic structure that sets both presenter and audience up for victory. It’s a win-win!
  • The basic presentation elements that you’ll need are the opening, body, and closing.
  • Many speakers simply ignore the opening and closing which are very important to be focused on. You should bind your presentation together with a call to action. Let your audience understand where to go from here!
  • It may happen that you are making a presentation as a part of a group. essentially the same information applies to group presentation as well as the individual ones.

“When preparing a presentation, it’s never a good idea to begin with a rule. If you do, you’re focusing on the appearance of good delivery and not the effect of it.”
